About Via Jiu Jitsu

More Than
A Gym
A Way Forward

Via means “the way.” We believe jiu-jitsu is a path — a way to build confidence, discipline, resilience, and community through consistent training.

Via Jiu Jitsu is built for kids, beginners, competitors, families, and everyone in between. Every class is rooted in strong fundamentals, proper technique, and a safe training culture.

We meet each student where they are and help them grow at their own pace.

Our Culture

Built On Character,
Technique & Community

We believe jiu-jitsu builds more than physical skill. It builds character. Through consistent training, students develop discipline, confidence, and resilience that show up in every area of life — not just on the mat.

01

Safety First

Students are coached in a structured environment where respect, control, and trust matter.

02

Strong Fundamentals

We teach the details that help students understand jiu-jitsu, not just memorize moves.

03

No Ego

The best training rooms are built on humility. Everyone was new once.

04

Real Belonging

This is more than a gym. It is a team, a community, and a place to grow.

Yosof M. Wanly

Head Instructor | BJJ Black Belt

Professor Wanly is one of Oregon’s most accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners — a competitive black belt directly mentored by Lucas Lepri, 10x BJJ World Champion, under the legendary Team Alliance.

A published instructor, doctoral academic, former law enforcement officer, and community chaplain, he brings a rare depth of knowledge and character to the mat. His mission is simple: use the art to help people become better versions of themselves.
