Membership FAQ

Questions Before You Join?

Here are the most common questions students ask before choosing a training option.

Do I need experience before joining? +
No. Beginners are welcome. You do not need to be in shape, know techniques, or have previous martial arts experience before starting.
Can I use the 6-class pass for Gi and No-Gi? +
Yes. The 6-Class Starter Pass can be used for eligible Gi or No-Gi classes at Via Jiu Jitsu.
Do I need to sign a waiver? +
Yes. Every student signs a standard training waiver before participating. It only takes a minute, and we’ll walk you through it when you arrive — or you can fill it out ahead of time here.
What should I wear to my first class? +
Wear comfortable athletic clothes you can move in. A t-shirt, rashguard, shorts, leggings, or compression gear all work. Bring water and slides or flip-flops for when you step off the mat.
Can I upgrade to a monthly membership later? +
Yes. The starter pass is a great way to begin, and you can move into a monthly membership when you are ready for more consistent training.
Will I be pressured to sign up? +
No. We want you to choose the option that fits your life. You can ask questions, try a class, and decide from there.
Do you offer family memberships? +
Yes. Family membership options are listed above, so you can choose the option that fits your household and sign up there. Contact us only if you have more family members than the listed options include, and we’ll help you get set up.
Do classes on the starter pass expire? +
No. Your 6-Class Starter Pass does not expire, so you can use your classes at a pace that fits your schedule. We designed it to be flexible for busy students, new students, and anyone who wants to start without pressure.
Where do I purchase a membership or pass? +
Memberships and passes are purchased through BJJLINK. Click any membership button on this page and you’ll be taken to the signup page.
